Imagine…

What comes to your mind when you read this poem?  Use your five senses to describe the picture and feeling after reading it.

Tonight In The Tub

I Sit Up Straight

And Stretch Out My  Arms

Until   They   Feel   Their   Floating:

Fingers     Resting     Very     Still.

I Lean Back Slowly

Until My Long BlondeHair

Is  All  The  Way  Under  The  Water:

Water   Surrounding   My   Forehead

Water   Making   A   Liquid   Crown

Water   Covering   Into   My   Ears.

Water    The OneAndOnlyS o u n d.

Mrs. Cox is announcing your connections!

Mrs. Cox needs more blog comments to read on the morning announcements!  She is looking for some thoughtful responses to this post…

Think about something you have read recently.  What connections did you make to the text?  What did it remind you of (something you have already learned, another book you have read, something you have done in the past, etc.)?  Make sure to include how this connection helped you understand the text.

Let’s booktalk!

A booktalk is a brief summary of a book.  Tell us about a great book that you have read recently.  Don’t forget to get us interested in your book by telling what is important about the characters, setting and the problem.  Be careful not to tell us too much, though – don’t give away the solution or the ending!
